Physical distance between Washington, D.C. and the West Coast, as well as operational and cultural differences between the federal government and California’s robust business and nonprofit communities, complicate efforts to foster a culture of cross-sector collaboration. The Partnership for Public Service aims to serve as a catalyst for public-private partnerships, with a focus on improving government’s connectivity with the state’s technology sector on shared priorities.

To that end, the Partnership and X Sector Labs are collaborating to conduct a series of design labs with key private and public sector stakeholders to identify areas where government would benefit from the expertise of innovators and specific approaches for enhancing cross-sector collaboration to better serve the country’s communities.
