Our Work

Governor Newsom's #CAComback Plan

This week, Governor Newsom proposed $500 million for service opportunities and youth jobs. As part of the Governor’s California Comeback Plan, the #CaliforniansForAll College Program creates debt-free college pathways for low-income students to tackle our greatest challenges, inspires a new generation to serve, and helps unite our communities.

If passed by the legislature, the historic state investment in service will allow California to create a service corps of young Californians larger than the Peace Corps to mobilize climate action, provide tutoring/mentoring, and tackle other critical areas of COVID-19 recovery.

Students who commit to serve for an academic year will receive a stipend and scholarship of up to $10,000 to help pay for college. Historically excluded from National Service programs, this program will also include AB 540 eligible Dreamers, giving them the equal opportunity to serve their communities and help pay for college.

Go to CaliforniansForAll.ca.gov to learn how you can serve, volunteer, and engage in your community.

KBM Advanced Launches!

KBM is an innovative company focused on environmental sustainability and community impact within one of the fastest growing sectors of additive manufacturing by drastically reducing the environmental impact of metal manufacturing through improved resource efficiency, extended product life and reconfigured supply chains.

Read about the launch on Metal AM and 3D Printing Media Network. To further introduce KBM capabilities to the industry, the company will host an online launch on Thursday, May 20 at 1 PM EDT. Feel free to join!

In Our Community

Wally Adeyemo, UC Berkeley Commencement Speaker

“California makes it easy to find ways to serve, simply visit CaliforniansForAll.ca.gov, where you can find ways to engage in shaping the future of the communities you care about. For those of you undecided on what to do after graduation, I would recommend considering spending a year or two serving in your community. Yesterday, the governor announced a half-billion-dollar program to call on young people to serve as climate organizers, tutors and mentors, in food banks and other critical areas. California needs you, and also, America needs you now.”

Thank you, Wally Adeyemo, for a great UC Berkeley Commencement Address, calling on Cal Bears to engage in community and serve. You continue to lead by example and inspire us all to follow! #GoBears
